NFRCC - Camera Rochester

The Niagara Frontier Regional Camera Club NFRCC ( NFRCC ) is an organization that seeks to promote photography in the Niagara region, with clubs participating from both the USA and Canada.

Camera Rochester is affiliated with the NFRCC, which allows it to compete in the McKellar online photography competitions that run 4 times a year, in October, November, December and January, and also in the annual Golden Horseshoe competition. The results of both the Golden Horseshoe, and the final rankings in the McKellar competitions are announced at the NFRCC Annual Convention each March.

McKellar Competition :  The McKellar is open to all NFRCC affiliated clubs ( 11 clubs as of 2009 ). Each club submits 6 images, ( only 1 image per photographer is allowed ), the images are then judged by three independent judges, each scoring the images out of a maximum of 10 points, so the maximum score an image can receive is 30 points. The photographers of the top scoring  ( approx. 25% ) of images receive a ribbon as recognition, additionally the total points awarded to each club is tallied up, and the clubs are then ranked accordingly, after the 4th competition the club with the most points receives the McKellar trophy. The Golden Horeseshoe: This annual competition allows each club to submit 20 images, the number of images per photographer is dependent on the number of competing photographers in each club, and similar to the McKellar competition, the club whose 20 images receive the highest aggragate score will receive the Golden Horseshoe trophy.
